New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Hyderabad has launched a new B.Tech degree in Industrial Chemistry, last year. The programme will equip the students for the growing demand in academia and industry for skilled individuals with sufficient understanding in both chemistry and its technological issues.
IIT Hyderabad has notified that the programme will give students hands-on experience in Fundamental Engineering and Science. Similarly, a five-year integrated dual degree in Industrial Chemistry programme is offered by IIT BHU (Varanasi).

BTech in Industrial Chemistry: Course Structure & Seat Matrix
It is a four-year undergraduate programme divided into eight semesters. The BTech programme will cover significant topics like green chemistry, materials for energy and the environment, paints and polymers, medication research, food technology, nanochemistry, machine learning, and computer simulations.
Every semester, the students will take seven to eight subjects on average and will be encouraged to participate in an industrial internship. Meanwhile, IIT Hyderabad is offering a total of 15 seats for this programme.
BTech in Industrial Chemistry: Eligibility Criteria
In order to get admission to B.Tech in Industrial Chemistry, the candidates must have qualified IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Advanced along with class 12 (or equivalent) from a recognised state or central board.
BTech in Industrial Chemistry: Course Fees
The BTech in Industrial Chemistry tuition fees for the general, EWS and OBC category candidates will be INR 1 lakh per semester except for the BTech 2022 batch. Whereas the students belonging to SC/ST or PH category are fully exempted from the tuition fees.
Further, there are extra charges that are added to tuition fees like welfare funds and charges for the hostel and mess.
