IIT Roorkee to Offer Internships Under SPARK Programme 2023

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Roorkee unveiled its annual flagship programme, the SPARK internship programme for the academic session 2023. As a part of the programme, a total of 25 UG and  10 PG Internships will be offered to the students.

Candidates interested in applying for this programme, can visit the IIT Roorkee official website @spark.iitr.ac.in. The last date to apply online is March 31 and the results will be declared in the second week of April 2023.

IIT Roorkee SPARK Internship 2023: How to Apply? 

Candidates can go through the following steps to apply online for the IIT Roorkee SPARK Internship programme. 

Step 1: Visit the official IITR SPARK website— spark.iitr.ac.in.

Step 2: Go to the homepage, click on the tab that reads, "apply online for SPARK Internship" 

Step 3: Now, sign up by entering all the necessary details such as name, mobile number, etc. 

Step 4: After registering successfully, fill the application form with all the prescribed details. 

Step 5: Preview the application form and download it for all your future reference. 

As a part of its 175th anniversary celebration, IIT Roorkee is awarding 25 UG and 10 PG internships through the SPARK programme to the students at institutions within 200 kilometres of IIT. A stipend of INR 2500 per week for 6–8 weeks will also be given to the students.

The UG internship can last up to six weeks, while the PG internship can go up to six months. The Internships for students is scheduled to commence in the second week of May.

The purpose of this programme is to support the undergraduate students from all around India. The selected students will collaborate with professors from 26 academic departments and centres on cutting-edge research projects. Further, the internship is also available at the recently opened Mehta Family School of data science and Artificial Intelligence. 

The Director of IIT Roorkee, Professor KK Pant, revealed that practical, and hands-on experience is highly essential for all engineering, science, and applied science students, especially if they gain experience in an IIT environment.

With its introduction in 2018, the SPARK internship programme has been highly successful, along with over 15,000 applications last year, resulting in 120+ offers made.
