New Delhi: In the first round of the 2023 placement season, 22 students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna have got offers from abroad. While seven students this year won the maximum domestic package of Rs 82.05 lakh, the average package now stands at Rs 29.30 lakh.
Students from IIT Patna have received 281 offers in total thus far. Beginning in the second week of January 2023, the phase 2 placement session will take place.
The number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) increased by 44% from the previous year. Students at IIT Patna obtained 72 PPOs this year as opposed to 50 the year before. Twenty offers over Rs. 50 lakh pay package and 50 offers over Rs. 40 lakh pay package were made to students in the first phase.
95 organisations from the fields of software and IT, banking and finance, analytics and consulting, core engineering, e-commerce, automobile, infrastructure, manufacturing, and health care have thus far hired students for a variety of positions. The main hiring companies were in the banking, consulting, IT, or software industries.
This year's placement drive featured some of the leading businesses, including Google, Atlassian, DE Shaw, Adobe, Arista Network, Sprinklr, Texas Instrument, Amazon, Oracle, Rakuten Mobile, Intuit, etc. Additionally, more than 20 new businesses, including Denso Corporation, Edfora, 26 Miles Capital, Titan-DirectI, Javis.ai, WDC, EXL Service, C-Dot, and others, took part in the campus recruitment for the first time.
Software engineer, hardware engineer, application engineer, product engineer, quant analyst, data scientist, digital consultant, manager, infrastructure analyst, machine learning engineer, digital engineer, decision analyst, consulting, management trainee, GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee), PGET, product manager, etc. are just a few of the job profiles that are available.
"The solid academic curriculum of the institute and the in-depth technical capabilities along with the leadership characteristics of the students are the grounds for this amazing accomplishment," IIT Patna Director Professor T N Singh remarked.
