January 14, 2021: Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have announced MBA Admission 2021 will begin on the basis of Common Admission Test (CAT) scores for eligible candidates.
IITs will follow the same admission procedure similar to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). According to several recent news, eight IITs - Bombay, Dhanbad, Delhi, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee, Jodhpur, and Kanpur are open for admissions for two year MBA courses.
Interested candidates have to apply for the MBA Admission 2021 at each Institute separately. The admission window for the same is now open till January 31, 2021, for eligible candidates.

IIT MBA Admission 2021: Selection Process
The selection procedure will vary across different IITs. The admission procedure at IITs will be much similar to IIMs. Despite this, MBA admission at IITs will not have any connections with IIMs.
As per the official CAT results data, the topper students at CAT 2020 exam mostly belonged to the engineering background. Out of the nine 100% candidates, seven belong to the engineering or technology backgrounds, and five of the nine 100 percentile students were IITs students.

Additionally, out of the 19 candidates who scored 99.99 percentile, as many as 16 students belong to engineering or technology backgrounds. A total of 1,90,144 candidates turn out for the CAT 2020 Examination.
