New Delhi: Dr Garima Agrawal, a faculty member of IIT, Mandi, has received the NASI-Platinum Jubilee Young Scientist Award 2022 in the "Chemical Sciences" category. She received the honour in appreciation of her significant contributions to the industry.
As per IIT Mandi, the NASI-Platinum Jubilee Young Scientist Award 2022 honour is given to Dr Garima Agrawal along with a medal, citation, and financial prize of Rs 25,000. The National Academy of Sciences (NASI) has created the award for all Indians and Indian-overseas persons under the age of 35.
To honour the promise, innovation, and excellence among young scientists, the NASI Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee Award ceremony was established. This remarkably advances any field of science and technology acknowledged by the NASI based on efforts done throughout the nation.
In order to receive NASI-Platinum Jubilee Young Scientist Award 2022, candidates must be younger than 35 years and should also have a strong scientific background and have done a considerable amount of work in India.

Talking about the award, Dr Garima Agrawal (NASI) expressed gratitude to the institute's mentors, collaborators, coworkers, and previous and present lab members. Assistant Professor Dr Garima Agrawal teaches in the School of Chemical Sciences at IIT Mandi.
She is honoured to have received such an honour and to have had the opportunity to make a contribution to Indian research thanks to this award, which is a fantastic recognition of her work in the field of chemical sciences.
Dr. Agrawal added that there are many opportunities in this wide-open space, and she is motivated to make tiny moves in the future as well. She is very interested in creating functional polymers and colloidal particles with controlled chemical structure and morphology, according to a release from IIT Mandi.
In addition to this, her team works primarily on the chemical design of macromolecules that exhibit stimuli-responsive behaviour, self-assembly, and programmed degradation.
