New Delhi: IIT Madras has signed an MoU with SDM University to launch a collaborative research team at SDM University. It will generate normative data (normal reference values) for vascular stiffness and central blood pressure in the Indian population and will study the protective effects of yoga on vascular ageing.
At a formal function at SDM University, Dharwad, Vice-Chancellor of the University Niranjan Kumar, Jayaraj Joseph of the Electrical Engineering Department and Nabeel PM, lead research scientist at HTIC, IIT Madras, exchanged the documents.
During the signing and exchange of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Director of Administration of SDM University Saketh Shetty, Pro Vice-Chancellors SK Joshi and V Jeevandhar Kumar, Principal Rathnamala Desai, Satish G Patil and Vittal Khode and others were present.
During the 59th Convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), a total of 2804 students were present. The ceremony was held on the campus on July 13, 2022. As many as 2,620 degrees (including Joint and Dual Degrees) were awarded to the students who took admission to IIT Madras.
After 2 years the convocation was held in physical mode. The 60,000th Degree of the Institute since its inception was also presented during this Convocation. A total of 306 PhDs were also awarded, which includes PhDs, Joint Degree PhDs with foreign institutions and Dual Degree PhDs.
Addressing the graduates, N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, said, “It is a great privilege for all of you to have studied in this wonderful institution and I am pretty sure, it has prepared you in multiple different ways that you probably may not recognize today.”
