IIT Kharagpur PhD Admission 2023 Autumn Semester: Eligibility Criteria
To get admission in PhD program offered by IIT Kharagpur, interested candidates needs to follow the eligibility criteria mentioned follows:
- Candidates must scored a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying degree in Engineering /Science /Commerce /Management/ Law and/or equivalent, or
- Candidates must score a minimum of 55% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying degree in Humanities/Social Science/MBBS degree.

Departmental Academic Committee (Post-Graduate and Research) of the Department/Centre concerned recommends the admission of a candidate to the PhD program on the basis of:
- Overall performance in the academic
- Online written examination and
- Interview round
The academic units may shortlist candidates for the final interview round only on the basis of overall academic performance or based on both overall academic performance and an online written examination. However, final selection will be based on overall academic performance and performance in the final interview round only.
