Amid the rising concerns over the conduct of JEE and NEET exams, IIT Kharagpur Director Virendra Kumar Tewari has said that conducting these exams is crucial since admissions to premier institutes like IITs and top medical colleges will not be possible otherwise.

The director has requested students to put their faith in the organising bodies who have been working tirelessly to provide a safe environment to hold the exams in the current situation.

“Necessary facilities have been arranged for the students to ensure social distancing, hygiene protocols and even facilitation for probable asymptomatic cases,” said Director Virendra Kumar Tewari, IIT Kharagpur.

He also emphasized that he was aware of the apprehensions of the students who will appear for the exams, and asked students to take this situation as a challenge to show their sincerity and adaptability to the new normal and aim for a better future.

The fact that a quick alternative to JEE Mains and JEE Advanced will certainly be not as promising as competing for this examination by all fair means was also mentioned by Tewari.

The JEE (Main) and the NEET (undergraduate) examination for admission into engineering and medical colleges respectively are scheduled to be conducted in the month of September.
