New Delhi: The seventh convocation ceremony at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur came to an end on November 12, 2022. Out of the 516 degrees the institute issued this year, 391 were given to men and 125 were given to women.
The 516 degrees granted this year comprised 6 students from the first-ever collaborative programme between an IIT and an AIIMS in the nation. The Master of Medical Technologies jointly given by AIIMS Jodhpur and IIT Jodhpur, as well as 16 PhD, 58 MBA, 101 MSc, 123 MTech, and 212 BTech degrees.
A School of Liberal Arts was established by the institute this year to promote the development of liberal arts inside the IIT ecosystem and to promote closer collaboration between technology, humanities, and social sciences.
IIT Jodhpur has also introduced six new interdisciplinary programmes, including new four-year BS programmes in Chemistry and Physics with specialisation and MTech in Robotics and Mobility, MTech in Augmented and Virtual Reality, MTech in Intelligent Communication Systems, MTech in CPS and MS in Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity (with University of Albany).
Additionally, IIT Jodhpur has established a special fellowship programme to give young PhDs who fall under the SC, ST, NCL-OBC, or EWS categories the opportunity to get valuable post-doctoral research and teaching experience at IIT Jodhpur.
