New Delhi: The "Rama Kanta Chair" in the field of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) has been endowed by IIT Delhi alumni Mr. Alok Aggarwal (Class of 1986, Civil Engineering). He wants to dedicate this chair to honour his devoted mother, Smt. Rama Kanta.
The Rama Kanta chair will strengthen the reputation for excellence and leadership of IIT Delhi in the fields of ESG and sustainable development in teaching, research, and development. The chair also strives to promote more extensive and in-depth communication between the IIT Delhi professors, students, and business community.
Mr. Aggarwal had a strong desire to donate the chair to the IIT Delhi department of civil engineering because the school played a significant role in the development of his core principles and holds a very important place in his heart. His wife and kids are ardent supporters of this chance to support the organisation.
Sharing his fond memories, Mr. Aggarwal said that the institute has played a crucial role in developing the person that he is today, and he will be forever grateful for the advice, education, and experience he gained.
Expressing his happiest time as a student, he said that supporting IIT Delhi is an honour, and it is a privilege for him to have been involved in the chair's creation.
Being the managing director and CEO of Brookfield Properties in India, Alok Aggarwal has increased the business's dedication to ethical business practices in India. He pursued MBA from ISB Hyderabad and B.Tech. from IIT Delhi.
