New Delhi: IIT Bombay has announced the second edition of All India 2D Animation Hackathon 2023. Interested students who wish to take part in the hackathon can submit their online registrations on the official website at hackathon.fossee.in.
As per IIT Bombay, participants in this hackathon are expected to use Synfig Studio, a cross-platform free and open-source vector-based 2D animation software to produce an original 2D animated short movie video with a maximum runtime of three minutes.
All India 2D Animation Hackathon 2023 is being organised by the FOSSEE project in collaboration with Spoken Tutorial (EduTech/IT Literacy) project, the Indian Culture portal, and Bollywood Director Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods International.
Anyone who is familiar with simple graphics, design, and animation can take part in the All India 2D Animation Hackathon 2023. It would be beneficial to have prior experience using Synfig Studio and other open-source graphics programmes to produce 2D animation.
This is the second edition of the 2D animation hackathon being held by IIT Bombay. This year's animation hackathon's topics include Jataka tales, Panchatantra tales, and unsung heroes. The application period is now open and the last date to register is February 05, 2023.
The National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), Ministry of Education, Government of India, funds the FOSSEE (Free/Libre Open Source Software for Education) initiative, which was established at IIT Bombay and encourages the usage of FOSS in academic institutions.
