New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi has organised an “MGNF Sankalp Skill Conclave” in a collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to promote skill development in Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand state.
As per IIM Ranchi, the skill development conclave was held in 56 districts across Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand states. The event included discussions on sessions on challenges, opportunities and ways to move forward to skill development initiatives in the country.
The event was addressed by the keynote speakers such as RCM Reddy, ex-I.A.S and Managing Director and CEO of SchoolNet India, Mayank Bhatnagar DGM, State Engagement at NSDC, and Vaibhav Dange, an author and a senior policy expert.
They discussed ways to improve and expand future skill development initiatives in the country. In the second panel, H. Krishnanunni, Deputy Commissioner- Erode, Johny Tom Varghese and Deputy Commissioner - Ramanathapuram, V.Vishnu shared their ideas with participants.
In addition to this, Deputy Commissioner- Tirunelveli, Shashi Ranjan, Deputy Commissioner- Khunti, Aditya Ranjan, Deputy Commissioner- Koderma, and Sushant Gaurav, Deputy Commissioner- Gumla discussed challenges and opportunities in the field of skill development.
In the third panel, experts shared their insights on the importance of partnership and networking for skills development in India. Experts who shared their ideas are Capt. Amitabh (Head - Skill Development at Tata Steels) and Tanmay Nayak (Programme Director of NUSSD at TISS).
Dr. Divya Nambiar (Principal Consultant to Oxford Policy Management) Tara Gopal, (Co-founder of SHEEE) and Prashant Hota (Exec. VP and CEO for Education and Skills at Jindal Steels were also present at the skill development conclave.
In the last panel, MGNF fellows received guidance from Rouhin Deb (Chief Economist at the CM’s Secretariat for Govt. of Assam), Rajesh Gilda (Co-funder and VP of Lend-A-Hand India), Sandeep Singh (Interim Chairperson of the BoG, IIM Kashipur).
Experts Lalit Tripathi (CEO of Vedant Assets) and Capt. Kumar Devashish (Policy Researcher and Development Consultant) shared the impactful work in their districts. The panel was graced by the presence of Pravin Toppo, Divisional Commissioner of South Chhota Nagpur division.
