The British Telecommunications PLC (BT) and the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D) have partnered to create broadband optical networks and the following quantum security products.
This coalition's goal is to support the expansion of telecommunications services with high data speeds as we move toward 5G. The BTIRC (BT India Research Centre) is concentrating on working with Indian institutions of higher learning to build next-generation networks and technology for information and communication solutions.
Through this partnership, IIIT Delhi will be able to focus on creating elastic optical networks and quantum key distribution (Metro Networks and Inter-city Backbone).
Professor Andrew Lord, Senior Manager of Optical Networks Research at BT, stated that it was an honour for BTIRC to be connected with the esteemed IIIT Delhi and support the research activities carried out at the institution.
He added that the expansion of information technology in India will assist BTIRC in presenting novel and interesting opportunities for telecommunications innovation and will also encourage the creation of new relationships between India and the UK.
BTIRC is a reputable extension of British Telecommunications' network cooperation and research facilities, which are constantly expanding. BT has offices in the USA, the UAE, China, and Northern Ireland.
In his remarks on the collaboration, Professor Ranjan Bose, Director of IIIT Delhi, stated that as a premier research teaching institution, the organisation supports bringing professionals, students, and businesses up to speed with technological revolutions.
