On January 04, 2021, Gurugram University announced that the second-semester final exam will not be conducted this year for registered students, while the status quo of all the students who were promoted last year will remain the same.

Facing stiff opposition from the students, and protests from hundreds of students, the vice-chancellor and exam controller of Gurugram University decided to cancel second-semester examinations for students. 

VC assured that those who have already been promoted to the third semester through internal assessment would not be required to appear for any further examination. The latest news brings relief to those who were protesting outside the University campus.

VC Dr Markanday Ahuja said, “to maintain the status quo of all the second-semester students who were promoted last year they have taken the decision. Though they had not published any final decision nor released any circular regarding conducting any examination in January”, he further added.

Earlier, On January 2, 2021, over 300 students protested demanding the repealing of the University's decision on holding the final examination from January 20, 2021. 

As a result, university authorities conduct a meeting to discuss the second-semester exam commencement. During the meeting, Gurugram University authority met with the college principals to reconsider the examination schedule, and cancel the second-semester final examination.
