Gujarat NEET UG Counselling 2020: Gujarat Medical Colleges NEET-UG Choice Filling will start from today, November 23, 2020, for 5,508 vacant admission seats across the state.
As per Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Courses (AC-PUGMEC) official statement, in six medical colleges across all social categories, NEET 2020 cutoff is expected to increase from 33 to 76 score, which will be recorded as the highest increase since 2017.
BJ Medical College is expected to end the admission process at 643 intake cutoff in comparison to last year’s 610 cutoff release. For Vadodara Medical College, 623 marks cutoff is likely to be released, making it a 44 marks increase compared to last year's cutoff release.
BJ Medical College Dean, Dr. Pranay Shah said, “We expect to admit students who score 640 or above in NEET. This Cutoff is 30 marks higher than in 2019. Across all social categories, we witnessed NEET Scores improving over a few years, making competition tough”.

For SC and ST category candidates, the admission cutoff release is more likely to increase by 47 to 62 marks while compared to the previous year’s release. On the other hand, SEBC category candidates can expect an increase of 61 to 75 marks across six medical colleges across the state.
A total of 5, 508 admission seats are available, out of which 4,446 seats are reserved for Gujarat candidates. The remaining 617 seats are reserved for NRI students.
Under all Indian quota, there are 210 medical admission seats available in six medical colleges across the state, while 235 seats are reserved for management quota candidates.
Referring to the increase in the cutoff, AC-PUGMEC said, "NEET exams were held in September, instead of May which gave students enough time. Moreover, the exam was easy compared to previous years".
