The Tripura polytechnic admissions are carried out through two primary examinations- the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE) under the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE), Directorate of Higher Education, Tripura, and the Diploma Engineering entrance examination of Tripura (DEEET) conducted by the central selection committee. While the former is for admission to engineering degree colleges, medical colleges, and other professional degrees across the participating institutions, the latter is solely for admission to Diploma courses across public and private colleges of Tripura.

The registration process for Tripura Polytechnic Admission through DEEET will be done in the month of April 2023. Tripura Diploma Engineering Entrance Exam (DEEET) 2023 will be held in June and the results will be announced in August 2023.

Tripura Polytechnic Admissions 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria put up by the Directorate of Higher Education for the respective examinations they wish to appear for. The detailed eligibility criteria are listed below:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • The candidate must be a permanent resident of Tripura or must be staying in Tripura for not less than 10 years prior to the filing of the application. Exceptions can be made if the candidates are wards of ex-servicemen or defense personnel.
  • There is no upper age limit for either of the examinations as per AICTE norms.
  • Candidates applying for DEEET need to qualify for Class 10th or equivalent examination from a recognized board with at least 35% aggregate in the compulsory subjects. No round-off will be considered.
  • Candidates applying for TJEE need to qualify for Senior Secondary examinations from a recognized board in the relevant subjects (PCM/PCB) in which they will opt to appear.
  • Candidates who are appearing for their final examinations are eligible to apply for both entrance examinations.

Tripura Polytechnic Admission Process 2023

The application process for both TJEE and DEEET is online. There is no offline mode of registration. The detailed steps for registration are given below.

  • Registration for TJEE 2023 opens in February 2023. Candidates were required to submit the duly filled application form on or before February 2023.
  • Registration for DEEET 2023 opens in March 2023. Candidates were required to submit the duly filled application form on or before April 2023.
  • Registration for DEEET reopened in the last week of July and closes in August 2023.

  • The application form for DEEET is available on the Diploma Engineering Entrance Examination of Tripura website.
  • Candidates can submit only one application. Multiple applications may lead to the rejection of the candidate.
  • Candidates require a unique Mobile Number, Email ID, and password to create a portal.
  • Candidates should fill up the profile details such as names, academic qualifications, addresses, and other information accurately.
  • For DEEET, candidates need to upload their photographs and signature in the prescribed format.
  • For TJEE, candidates need to upload their photographs, signature, caste certificate (if required), ration card (for BPL students), and DDRC certificate (for PWD students) in the prescribed format.
  • Candidates need to pay the required application fee.
  • Retain the payment receipt and completed application form for further reference.

Tripura Polytechnic Admission 2023: Exam Pattern

Both the examinations are conducted offline through OMR sheets and constitute multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

DEEET:

  • The DEEET comprises 100 questions amounting to 400 marks and the time allotted is 2 hours.
  • The paper is divided into three sections- Section I (Mathematics), Section II (Physical science/ Science), and Section III (English).
  • There are 40 questions in the first section, 40 in the second section (20 questions from Physics and 20 questions from chemistry), and 20 questions in the third section.
  • The medium of the question paper in English and Bengali.
  • Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks and one mark is deducted for a wrong answer.
  • There are three sets of question papers- A, B, and C.

TJEE:

  • Candidates appearing for TJEE will need to choose one group amongst three:
  • Group-A: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  • Group-B: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
  • Group-C: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology
  • The TJEE comprises each of the subjects amounting to 100 marks. The time allotted is 2 hours.
  • Each correct answer is awarded 2 marks. There is no negative marking.
  • There will be 50 (fifty) compulsory MCQs, taking 5 (five) questions from each Module for each subject.

TJEE:

Tripura Polytechnic Admission 2023: Result

The Central Selection Committee (CSC) publishes the Merit list based on merit. The list includes the candidates who have appeared in the examination and have qualified all the required criteria fixed by the Central Selection Committee (CSC). The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination publishes its examination result based on the qualifying marks secured by the candidate in the TJEE as per the subjects chosen by the candidate during registration. The results of both the examinations will be published on their respective websites.

Tripura Polytechnic Admissions 2023: Counseling Process

The counseling process for both examinations begins soon after the publication of the merit list. Candidates need to constantly check the official website for new updates.

DEEET:

Seats of different courses in different polytechnic institutes in the state of Tripura are distributed amongst the eligible candidates through counseling. The counseling for DEEET 2023 begins in October 2023. After getting selection through the process of counseling, the selected candidates will be nominated for admission in different polytechnic institutes, provided they complete the registration in the given timeline. After all the seat allocation rounds, vacant seats will be open for spot allocation.

TJEE:

Seats of different professional degree courses are received from various sponsoring departments which are usually reserved by the Govt. of India and the other central agencies for the state of Tripura. Apart from these seats, other seats are provided by State Institutions. The seats are distributed amongst eligible candidates through counseling. Candidates need to register to be considered for counseling before the last week of October 2023.
