The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) has introduced an online short course on 'Introduction to Digital Cinematography'. The course is to be conducted from July 27, 2020 to August 14, 2020. 

Interested candidates can apply on the official website of FTII, Pune before July 23, 2020, until 6 pm. Students will be selected on a first come first serve basis.

The online course will be directed by AS Kanal. Students will also be assigned assignments throughout the course, thereafter the certification is to be granted upon successful completion of the course.

The course classes will not be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays. A total of 30 students will be selected for the course and students should make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria and age limit.

Eligibility for the course

Age Limit: 18 years and above as on July 1, 2020

Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed class 12. In exceptional cases the institute also considers class 10 pass out.

Where will the Online Classes be conducted?

The online classes of the short term cinematography course will be conducted on Google Classroom & Google Meet platform.

Mandatory Requirements for the Course

The course will be in online mode, participants must have the following facilities for successfully attending the classes:

  • Candidate must have DSLR/video camera, camera tripod
  • Laptop/Desktop with minimum 8GB RAM, 1.6 GHz or better processor (Intel i3 or i5 or better)
  • Operating System: (a) Windows 7 or 8 (b) MAC OS Sierra or later
  • Audio – Video software: Latest versions of VLC player, Windows Media Player or Quicktime Player.
  • Compatible good quality headphones/ earphones with mic
  • Compatible HD webcam
  • Internet pack of a minimum of 5 GB per day exclusively for this course. It is recommended to have a fixed-wired Internet connection with a minimum speed of 10 Mbps or more.
  • Web browser: Latest version of Google Chrome (Preferred), Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari.
