The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)  will be informing the Supreme Court about its decision on the remaining CBSE Class 10 and CBSE Class 12 exams on Thursday i.e. June 25, 2020.

The SC had earlier asked CBSE to consider scrapping all remaining CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams and award mark based on internal assessment. The SC has asked the Board to come to inform its a decision regarding scrapping the CBSE Class 10 and CBSE Class 12 exams by Tuesday i.e. June 23, 2020.

Appearing for the CBSE, the Solicitor General informed the Supreme Court that the Central Government would likely give its decision to carry out the remaining Class 12 examinations by Thursday.

"The decision-making process is at an early stage and will be finalized by Thursday," said the Attorney General for the Center and the CBSE today. The hearing in the case was postponed until 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a HRD ministry sources have revealed that the CBSE is unlikely to conduct CBSE Board 12th Exam 2020 and CBSE 10th Exam 2020 in July. As per the sources, the ministry is working on an alternate grading system to award marks to students and declare CBSE Board Results 2020.

Earlier, Union Minister for Human Resources Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced that the CBSE 2020 results for both Class 10 and Class 12 will be announced on 15 August at just a few days' interval.

While talking about the CBSE Board of Exams, the Ministry's sources told the media house that "exams are unlikely in July as COVID-19 cases rise. Alternate grading system is being worked out for the Board of Exams."

Ministry will come out with a uniform decision for the entire country. The decision will encompass all exams including CBSE Board exams and entrance examinations including NEETJEE Main 2020, and others, as per the sources.

The SC responded to a plea filed by the parents of some of the students. The plea requested that the notification for the conduct of the remaining Class 12 examinations be quashed.

The source of the Ministry of Education told the media house that a uniform grading system is being developed and will be announced soon. As per the new grading system, the student marks will be awarded on the basis of an internal assessment.

The possibility of some examinations being postponed further can not be ruled out, according to the sources.

The source also added that the decision will be implemented for the whole country irrespective of education boards. All states, including the red and green zones will be taken into consideration.

CBSE will be conducting the remaining 10th CBSE exam for students in North East Delhi in July, along with the 12th CBSE 2020 exam, from 1 to 15 July 2020. On 18 May 2020 the revised Class 10 date sheet 2020 and the CBSE Class 12 date sheet 2020 were released.

Earlier, the CBSE Board of Review 2020 was postponed due to the implementation of a nationwide lockdown to contain coronavirus spread.
