Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' will reply to questions related to the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on 1 September. The Minister of Education has invited questions from various stakeholders on the NEP.

Pokhriyal's NEP session also coincides with the start of the Level Engineering Entry Test, Joint Entry Examination (JEE) Main. JEE Main 2020 is scheduled to take place from September 1 to 6 , 2020. Till date, most of the queries and comments in response to Ramesh Pokhriyal 's posts have been related to these exams and not to the NEP 2020.

Students have been demanding a postponement of the examination and have also approached the Supreme Court in this regard, where their PIL has been dismissed by the apex court.

Since then, students have taken to social media to raise their concerns about JEE Main and NEET 2020 when cases of COVID-19 infection are at an all-time high in the country.

Students also wrote to the Minister of Education, the Prime Minister, to postpone the two exams until December.

However, NTA, the testing agency, has assured that all necessary SOPs (standard operating procedures) will be followed throughout the country during the conduct of NEET and JEE Main.

Meanwhile, six state governments have approached the Supreme Court demanding the postponement of the examinations.

On the other hand, Pokhriyal argued that further postponement of NEET and JEE would be in the interests of students.

Inviting queries for the NEP discussion he tweeted: "Today's call to all teachers & principals is the last day to submit your suggestions that can help us with better / smooth implementation of # NEP2020. Share your incredible ideas with us and help us create a better future for # NewIndia”.
