On Friday, 10 June 2020, the Ministry of Human Resources Department cancelled exams of School of Learning (SOL) in wake of COVID-19 outbreak. The exams were slated for July 17, 2020.
MHRD came up with such a decision for DU-SOL soon after scrapping the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams including other crucial exams.
SOL has announced that it will assess students based on internal assessments that include past performances as well. It will access past years’ performances of students. Only the scores of the best four subjects will be reconsidered and incorporated into final results.
Earlier, SOL released admit cards for final year exams for exams to be held between July 1-18.
As a fact, such evaluation methods will be unique to SOL and regular students who are supposed to take Open Book Exams for now.
In case of students who wish to take physical examinations, they will be facilitated with such options. The students will be allowed to appear for exams in such papers once SOL conducts the first public examination again.
Meanwhile, Delhi University deferred Open Book Exams on Wednesday amid the pandemic situation. The university made this announcement through its official website.
As of now, Delhi University has stated that new dates will be released once finalised. The open book exams were originally scheduled to be held from July 10.
