DU SOL Exam 2020: More than 39,000 students of Delhi University, School of Open Learning (DU SOL) filled their exam forms after the University extended the deadline from December 5, 2020.

Delhi University has reopened the window to fill exam forms as many students missed the December 5 deadline. Following which, about 39,000 DU SOL and regular students have filled their exam forms. 

As per schedule, DU SOL will begin examinations from December 12, 2020 (Saturday) despite facing objections from students. At present, SOL has about 141,298 students who are eligible to take exams in blended mode. However, during a thorough investigation last Saturday, the varsity observed about 39,000 students had not filled their exam forms. 

U S Pandey, officiating principal of DU SOL said, “Every year some 10-20% of the students do not fill the forms. But this year we had sent multiple reminders through emails”.

Meanwhile, Dean of Exams, Delhi University, D S Rawat said,  “the dates for the form fill-up by a few more days”, even though the exams will begin from December 12. He added, “Students should be a little more serious as we have been sending them information on time and multiple reminders.”

According to Rawat, many students have mailed the university stating their reason for not filling exam forms within the deadline. “They all either claimed that they didn’t check their emails or had forgotten about the last date. Even some regular college students have missed it and the university cannot be in a situation where they cannot give their exams.”

However, at colleges like Keshav Mahavidyalaya, when a student misses the deadline for form fill-up, the principal, Madhu Pruthi said, “We personally reach out to students and inform them about developments.”
