DU Second Cut off List 2021 will be released on Saturday, October 9. As students applied for more than 50% seats through the first cutoff list, the competition is intense, hence chances are high that DU Second Cut Off 2021 may not see a substantial drop.

Over the years, Delhi University has been continuing to achieve the milestones in terms of admissions. Nearly 70,000 odd seats are to be filled across five cut off lists, wherein 47, 291 students have already applied under the first list.

The university recorded the highest cutoff in the first merit lists where many colleges in nine courses demanded 100% marks for DU admissions. On the first day of the Delhi University Admissions 2021 for the undergraduate courses, DU recorded over 30,000 applications against the first merit list.

Why DU Second Cut Off 2021 May Not Drop?

As reports claim, despite the high Delhi University Cut Off 2021, the number of applications has not been reduced. In fact, 38,049 applications were received on day one of the admissions process, which represents a huge jump from last year, when around 19,972 students applied for admission.

On the second day, 47,291 applications were submitted until 7:45 pm. Of these, 9,114 seats have been approved by the varsities. A total of 7,167 students have also submitted fees and others can pay their fees till 7:45 pm on October 10.

Currently, the competition is going on for the remaining seats. Delhi University Admission 2021 process against the first merit list will conclude on October 7, 2021.

However, students who don't make it to the first merit list or want to forfeit the admission under the first admission list for better course and college preference can apply for DU admission against the second merit list, which is scheduled to be released on October 9, 2021.

As far as the second list is concerned, the top courses might not witness a huge decline. The number of students with more than 95% scores in CBSE is over 70,000 and most of the candidates applying for DU courses are from CBSE. Furthermore, results without exams from several other boards have reached a record-high of 90%.

However, students who were not able to score 90% or above also stand a chance to obtain an admission seat under the DU first merit list. Several top colleges including Lady Shri Ram College, Kamla Nehru College, and Motilal Nehru College have set their cutoffs under 90% to offer courses across various streams.

Earlier in 2020, the 2nd cutoff of the Lady Shri Ram College was quite high compared to other DU colleges. Considering the current scenario, if there's an availability of seats, the varsity will release the remaining three lists. The DU admission process also includes document verification of the candidates.

Students who will meet the DU Second Cut-off List can apply for admissions at the college websites between October 11 and 13, 2021. Further, the students who have taken admission against the first merit list and are willing to change courses and colleges have the provision of doing so by taking admission against the DU Second Cut-off.
