Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Chennai has finally introduced two online degree programmes as an initiative to expand its offerings in line with the objectives laid in National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020.
The newly introduced online programmes by Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute are Masters of Business Administration (various electives) and Master of Commerce (General).
ACS Arun Kumar, the president of Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute stated that the institute is focused on making digital education more accessible to the students. This online education will provide the learners, the flexibility and freedom to learn on their own convenience.
Further, online courses like this will allow the aspirants to learn while they work and gain experience and excel in their respective careers, added the president.
Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute have tailored these online courses keeping in view the learning needs of 21st-century students and working professionals. It has also been notified in a press statement that the Varsity is aiming to offer various online degree programmes in multiple specializations in due course of time.
Kumar also stated that physical education has become a matter of yesterday with the surge in the number of covid-19 cases across the country. At least with the help of these online courses, the institute is aiming to ensure that students don't lose their academic year and get the same quality of education via online mode through seamless platforms.
Besides, the University authorities have stated that the learning modules would include a gamut of interactive online sessions, mock tests, well packaged recorded tutorials by the in-house permanent faculties and guest lecturers.
It has been notified that the students can acquire their degrees through clearing the remotely proctored exams from their own convenience.
