Doctors Association Write Fresh Letter to Health Minister to Postpone NEET PG 2023 Exam

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has written a fresh letter to the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh Mandaviya to request postponement of NEET PG 2023 Exam.

In the letter, the FAIMS also urged the authority to reconsider the eligibility criteria for internship programs. The letter adds that around 10,000 registered candidates will not be eligible to appear for the entrance test if NEET PG 2023 is conducted on March 05, 2023.

In addition to this, candidates who have registered for NEET PG 2023 did not have enough time to prepare for the exam due to the conduction of NEET PG 2022 stay vacancy counselling on January 10, 2023. Therefore, FAIMS has requested the government to postpone the test. 

Talking about the upcoming NEET PG 2023 exam, the FAIMS letter reads, “FAIMA suggests with a genuine humble request for a similar step that can be considered this year in order to make many potential ineligible candidates eligible for NEET PG 2023”.

“Considering the mentioned facts, FAIMA requests the concerned authority to kindly consider the request and do the needful by postponing the exam by 2-3 months & re-considering the eligibility criteria of interns to make them eligible for NEET PG 2023”, it added.

Earlier, the United Doctors Front Association (UDFA) along with Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) and Indian Medical Association (IMA) wrote letters to Union Health Minister to request the postponement of NEET PG 2023 due to insufficient time for preparation. 

The letter reads, “We have also noticed a helpful decision by MOHFW in 2022, where NBEMS rescheduled NEET PG on 21/05/2022 & also additionally extended the eligibility criteria for interns due to which lots of intern students of various states were eligible of NEET PG 2022".

Citing similar situations, it reads, "Even the same scenario was seen in Covid Pandemic where the NEET PG 2021 was rescheduled from 15/04/21 to 11/09/21". Students preparing for the test are supporting the request to delay NEET PG 2023 through various social media platforms. 

The NBA opened the registration window for NEET PG 2023 on January 7, 2023. For eligible candidates, the entrance exam is set for March 5, 2023. Those who wish to appear for the entrance test were required to submit their applications by January 27 at 11:55 p.m
