New Delhi: Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) to offer skilling and placement support to students of both organizations.
Under this collaboration, Telecom Sector Skill Council and DSEU will jointly work towards providing placement opportunities to students and various programs under the ‘Center of Excellence initiative.
The MOU will hep towards upskilling students in 5G, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Additionally, following the MOU, students of Delhi/NCR will be provided with an opportunity to apply for various futuristic DSEU Courses. The courses will be open for students to apply for the upcoming academic session.
Referring to the initiative, Arvind Bali, CEO, TSSC said, “The youth today is very aspirational. They want to achieve excellence in all spheres of life. What I find most commonly is that these youth lack the guidance necessary to hone their skills and use it for something meaningful".
"This partnership has a lot of potential to create a stir in the skill ecosystem and potentially lead to a long duration degree (3 years) course on telecom which will be wholeheartedly welcomed by the industry”, he added.
The main goal of this collaboration is to increase the employability rate of both DSEU and TSSC students. With this strong vision, DSEU will support TSSC in reaching its aim of driving the employability of candidates.
In addition, the TSSC will provide support to DSEU for developing its Center of Excellence (CoE) on the campus ground. As per the institute, the center will also operate as a "Telecom Center of Excellence" under Telecom Sector Skill Council.
While talking about the collaboration, Dr. Neharika Vohra, Vice-Chancellor DSEU stated that under this academic partnership, the university is now planning on including ICT courses in its course list.
In this era of technology, the industry is now looking for manpower who is well versed in futuristic technologies such as 5G, ML, AI, IoT, etc. Our goal is to offer students with trending courses and well-equipped training labs to the students of DSEU, she further added.
