On September 15, 2022, NTA tweeted that the exam authority was still working on the release of CUET UG 2022 results, which would take longer than the anticipated release time of 10 PM on September 15.

However, the NTA did not specify a time, resulting in the students feeling anxious all night. Later, the latest reports revealed that the CUET 2022 results would be announced at 2 am as they were "processing a huge database."

This was the very first time an exam with a high number of registrations had been conducted for UG admissions. Based on the CUET scores, candidates will be shortlisted for UG admission seats in 43 central institutions and various private and deemed universities.

CUET-UG 2022 Results: How are Candidates Evaluated?

According to Sadhana Parashar, Senior Director (Exams), NTA, the merit lists will be prepared by participating universities. The list will be made to shortlist candidates for their individual CUET UG 2022 Counselling process based on the exam scorecard.

Parashar said that the "equi-percentile approach" is used to evaluate each candidate's performance. Under this, the normalised marks of every candidate were calculated using the percentiles of each group of students in a session across multiple days for the same subject.

It is possible that even though every effort has been made to maintain equivalence among various question papers, the difficulty level of these question papers administered in different sessions may not be the same as the question papers in different shifts are different.

She further added that the scores of the candidate's results from different shifts are not directly comparable. In order to facilitate these comparisons, it was necessary to normalise the marks across shifts.

This year, a total of 86 universities participated in the CUET 2022, which was conducted in six phases from July 15 to August 30, 2022. The exam was held for almost 14,90,000 candidates, however, there was a documented attendance rate of only 60%.
