CUET UG 2022 Exam Centers- 98% Students allotted exam centers in preferred city, Says UGC Chairman

New Delhi: For CUET UG 2022, at least 90% of students are given the exam center of their choice, informed UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar on July 12, 2022, while commenting on grievances raised by students regarding the delay in admit card release.

NTA released the CUET UG 2022 Admit Card on July 12, 2022, four days prior to the exam commencement. Due to this, students have raised their complaints regarding the delay in exam center and admit card declaration, as now they have to make travel arrangements for exam day.

Referring to the grievances submitted by candidates, UGC Chairman said, "The admit cards have been released four days prior to the examination due to security reasons and in order to avoid any malpractice in the exam. Students should not get worried".

"At least 98 percent of candidates will get the center in the city of their choice. Those who do not find the allotted center feasible can reach out to NTA which will entertain their requests," he further added.

Adding to the statement, he stated that the common practice in all entrance exams NTA conducts, whether it's JEE Mains, NEET, or CUET 2022, the exam authority releases the admit card four days before the exam date. There is no delay in the issue of admit card, he added.

Addressing the issue of having little time between NEET and CUET UG 2022, he stated that students who have also applied for physics, chemistry, or biology subjects will be allotted exam dates in the second phase. The phase 2 exam will be held from August 04 to August 10, 2022.

Earlier, the NTA has also released the CUET UG 2022 City Intimation Slip for all candidates who are preparing for the examination. Candidates can now check their exam city, exam center details, timings, and complete schedule by visiting the official website of NTA.

As per the CUET 2022 Schedule, NTA will conduct the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to various undergraduate courses from July 15, 2022, to August 20, 2022. As of now, over 11 lakh candidates have registered for the first-ever edition of CUET UG 2022.

Informing about the CUET 2022 Registration, Jagadesh Kumar said, "Over 14 lakh candidates have registered for the exam which will be conducted across 500 cities. It is a mammoth task and NTA is a professional exam conducting body. The students should not get worried”.

Based on marks secured in CUET UG 2022, candidates will be shortlisted for UG admissions to a total of 44 central universities, 12 state universities, 11 deemed universities, and 19 private universities in India.

As for PG admissions, the exam authority will conduct the first edition of CUET PG 2022 for sessions 2022-23. The exam will be held in the fourth week of July 2022 and the admit card for the same is expected to be released at least a week before the exam date.
