CUET PG Exam Mandatory for upcoming 2024 academic session; Declares UGC Chief

New Delhi: All central universities are being urged to use the Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET-PG) as of the upcoming academic year by UGC Chief M. Jagadesh Kumar. Up until this point, universities all around the nation had the choice to use CUET for their postgraduate programmes.

"As you are aware, CUET offers a uniform platform and equitable possibilities to candidates throughout the nation, especially those from the North-East, rural, and other remote locations, and aids in improving relationships with the Universities. The candidates can participate in the admissions process for numerous Central and participating Universities with just one exam, covering a wide audience. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been charged with organising the CUET-UG/PG, according to Kumar.

The official timetable states that the CUET PG exams will be given from June 1 to June 10, 2023, for the academic year 2023–2024. According to earlier information from Kumar, the results for the same will be released in the first week of July. The CUET PG exams were held last year from September 1 to September 12; the results were announced on September 26.

According to Kumar, increasing the number of central universities participating in CUET-PG will provide opportunities for students from all over India to enrol in the country's top universities. I implore all CUs to use CUET-PG results for PG programme admission, he stated.

Delhi University will start using CUET UG and PG for admissions to all programmes in all categories as of the upcoming academic year. The decision was made public by the university during the executive council meeting on December 8. Instead of DUET, the CUET PG score will now be utilised to evaluate applicants.
