The exam was scheduled initially to be conducted on May 10, 2020 but had to be postponed due to COVID-19 lockdown. The application dates were extended until May 2020.
He also assured that they are taking all the measures to guarantee social distancing at all exam centres. "We will be using 50%of the centres' capacity for it. We are working for it on 418 centres, in 282 cities," Kumar said.
Addressing another issue about the fake websites of COMEDK, he said he had also received more than 300 emails saying that they fell prey to the fake COMEDK website and wanted their applications to reconsidered. “We will also be addressing this issue shorty, in a day or two,” he said adding that the authorities had filed police complaints against the said websites and taken all necessary actions.
Students had expressed shock and despair over the exam date fixed to June 27, 2020. Hashtags like #PostPoneComedK were widely shared on Twitter this week and students had shared how it was risky to hold the important entrance exam in midst of the peak pandemic.
