New Delhi: The Consortium of National Law Universities has released the CLAT 2023 exam date, to be held on December 18, 2022. The authority will update the website with the online application link and registration, anytime soon. 

The NLU Consortium has requested the aspirants to register for the CLAT 2023 updates. It will help the students to stay notified of the detailed exam schedule, application forms availability and other events. But it is important to note that this form is not equivalent to the application form for CLAT 2023. 

Informing about this form for CLAT 2023 updates, the exam authority stated, "Please note that this is NOT the registration form for the CLAT 2023. Filling and submitting this form does not mean that you have registered for the CLAT 2023. A Registration Form, along with additional instructions, shall be released shortly. This form only indicates your willingness to receive general information and updates about the CLAT 2023 from the Consortium of NLUs at the contact details that you have provided."

The final CLAT 2022 counselling has been concluded on July 20, 2022. The exam authority has informed the candidates that CLAT 2023 notification can be expected anytime after July 15. 

CLAT 2023: Eligibility Criteria 

CLAT examination is conducted for both 5-year LLB and LLM programmes. Candidates can check the course-wise eligibility criteria here: 

  • 5-year LLB - Candidates should have completed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification with at least 45% marks (40% in the case of SC and ST candidates).
  • LLM - Candidates applying for CLAT LLM should have completed graduation in Law from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% in the case of SC and ST candidates).

The Consortium has announced on November 14, 2021, to conduct two CLATs in the same year. For CLAT 2022, as many as 60,895 candidates completed registrations, but only 56,472 candidates actually appeared for the exam. Therefore, CLAT 2023 registration number can be predicted around 80,000, for both UG and PG courses.
