Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has released the test pattern and syllabus for the CLAT 2021. Both the objective section and subjective section will be available for the CLAT LLM Examination this year.
The cutoff marks in CLAT 2021 examination was also given by CNLU. The subjective section will be evaluated only if the candidates have secured a minimum cut off marks in the objective section.
Several changes in the pattern and syllabus of CLAT 2020 were announced previously. One of the major changes was that the Consortium had announced that minimum cut off marks will be released for CLAT LLM for evaluation of the descriptive section.
Later, the Consortium has decided to conduct only the objective section and removed the subjective section and minimum cutoff criteria from the CLAT 2020 examination because of the COVID 19 outbreak.
The following section gives the different sections in the CLAT 2021 examination with the exam pattern.

CLAT 2021: Objective Section
In the objective section, various comprehensive passages will be given and 100 multiple choice questions will be asked from that. The passes may be taken from the legal reports, editorials, important cases, judgements and statutes.
The questions asked after each passage will test the critical thinking, analytical skills and the legal knowledge of the candidates. According to the Consortium, the objective section of the CLAT 2021 examination will be testing the ability of the candidates to read and comprehend the issued discussed in the passage.
The objective section is also designed to check the understanding of arguments and perspectives from the issues given in the passages. The awareness of the candidates about the legal issues and facts discussed in the passage will also be tested. To answer the questions, candidates should apply their law knowledge.

CLAT 2021: LLM Subjective Section
Candidates will be asked to write two essays from the list of questions supplied in the subjection section. The writing skills of the candidates will be demonstrated in this section.
Each essay should be of more than 800 words. The awareness of the candidates about the law, facts and philosophical issues around the question will be tested in the Subjective section of CLAT LLM examination.
The subjective section will test the writing skills of the candidates which include the ability of the candidate to structure the answer and set the arguments and viewpoints in an orderly manner.

The CLAT 2021 examination will be conducted in offline mode on June 13, 2021. Candidates can register for the examination till March 31, 2021, from the official website @consortiumofnlus.ac.in
