New Delhi: After CBSE, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, CISCE Board has announced its decision to take back the two board exam format for ICSE and ISC students from the upcoming academic session 2022-23. 

CISCE to hold ISC, ICSE Board Exam 2023 Annually; Revised Syllabus to Release in July

As per the latest notice released by CISCE Board, the examination for both ISC Class 12th and ICSE Class 10th students will now be held only once a year from 2023. Interested students and schools can check the details of the same on the board's official website at cisce.org.

The decision to remove the two board exams a year policy was taken after CBSE's announcement to conduct only one exam a year for CBSE Class 10th and CBSE Class 12th students. The revised exam pattern will be followed by all affiliated schools from 2023 onwards.

Referring to the decision, the official notice reads, “It has been decided by the CISCE to conduct only one examination at the end of the academic year 2023 at both ICSE and ISC levels. The CISCE proposes to hold the said examinations tentatively in February/ March 2023.”

With the announcement of removing the two board exams policy, students will now only have to appear for the board exam in the month of February/March 2023. The complete tentative ISC and ICSE Exam 2023 Dates have also been released on the board's website at cisce.org.

In addition to this, the examination board has released the ICSE and ISC Revised Syllabus for the upcoming academic session 2022-23. The board has requested all respective schools to plan their academic calendar with respect to the revised syllabus. 

CISCE Board will also release the specimen paper for all subjects for both class 10th and class 12th on its official website at cisce.org. The specimen papers will be made available to download in the month of July 2022.

Earlier, the CISCE Board announced a new pattern for ICSE Class 10th and ISC Class 12th Board students in view of the pandemic situation in the country. As per the earlier pattern, the class 10th and 12th exams for semester 1 and semester 2 were held for sessions 2021-22.
