New Delhi: Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh Campus has been awarded an A+ rating by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Following this achievement, the institute has now been placed among the top five per cent of HEIs under the A+ grade.
Chitkara University has accomplished this achievement mainly because of its three key elements, which include the university's infrastructure, its environmentally friendly campus and its startup-friendly ecosystem, as per the officials.
According to the official announcement, the university has a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.42 on a four-point scale. It has also secured its place in the top 5% of higher education institutions (HEIs) in India
Speaking on this occasion, Chitkara University Chancellor Ashok K Chitkara said, "It is the hard work by our students, staff and faculty for years that resulted in securing this recognition. Moreover, the university has a well-defined research promotion policy which has resulted in the development of state-of-the-art advanced facilities”.
Adding to the statement he shared that the faculty members of CURIN provide cutting-edge, multifunctional facilities supported by research financing from several governmental organisations and agencies.
The Chitkara University campus has achieved the status of zero discharge from the Quality Council of India as a result of its implementation of sustainable measures. The university also has a record of creating some brilliant start-ups such as Chai Nagri, ROBO champs, SD Academia and many more.
University Vice Chancellor Varinder S Kanwar said, "Entrepreneurship development has been one of our focus areas. We have a startup ecosystem, wherein we provide research scholars and faculties with seed money to support their research projects and patent applications”.
