The Chief Minister took this decision after it came to his notice that around 27 students of Dantewada district could not register for NEET. Even after they had qualified, they were unable to take part in the counselling because of network problems.
He said that in such incidents, students were not the ones at fault and their future should not be endangered. In an official press release, it was said that the district administration helped these students before the second counselling. But they could not get selected.
However, after the first counselling, 2 students namely Piyusha Bek and Kumari Padma Made were found to be eligible for admission. Thus, on the order of the Chief Minister, the Dantewada collector was directed to ensure that these students secure their admissions in private colleges and institutes.
