Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhilai is currently offering B.Tech, M.Tech programs and Ph.D programs in the departments of Chemistry, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics.
CMO Chhattisgarh also tweeted about the event with pictures of Bhoomi Pujan in the fort.

Institute Dedicated to Welfare of People
IIT Bhilai campus is aimed to optimize use of resources and has been named as the Academic Area Interconnect and Superstructure. At the ceremony, the CM said, “IIT Bhilai must make the best use of all rich resources accessible within the state, and promote welfare of all the people”.
He also emphasized on the fact that our first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru was from Bhilai and constructing an IIT is like giving a tribute to him and adding a feather to his cap. IIT Bhilai has secured 23rd rank in the country which marks it as an achievement for Chattisgarh.

The establishment of the IIT sector will enhance the research work in the state. The permanent campus will be completed by the year 2022 in Kutelabhata.
After the ceremony, CM also visited the Chattisgarh fort to inaugurate a new folk art route.
