New Delhi: First-slot campus placements for the Class of 2023 have begun at Chandigarh University, and the school's 6154 job offers are the highest in all of India. Having a solid grounding in its educational approach, research, international and industrial partnerships, and well-organized curriculum, it is making great strides.
The Chancellor of Chandigarh University, S.Satnam Singh Sandhu, reported that the campus placement record for the 2023 batch had been broken, with 6154 job offers offered to students.
To date, roughly 23 multinational corporations (MNCs) out of the total 150 visited for campus placements at Chandigarh University have offered salary packages of 30 lacs or more to students.
In his remarks to the media, Sandhu emphasized that the University had remained true to its founding mission of offering access to a high-quality, all-inclusive higher education and had advanced up the ladder of excellence, becoming the first choice of industry and employers.
"Chandigarh University's 2023 batch has received the largest number of job offers in the country, with 6,154, attesting to our exceptional placement record. While this is by far the highest number of recruiters of any university in the country, the vast majority of them are from Fortune 500 companies.” the Chancellor remarked.
He also said,“Thus highlighting that Chandigarh University's students are well-prepared for the workforce thanks to a well-rounded education that relevant internships and other real-world experience have bolstered.”
"Not only the placement offers, but our average annual salary package has also increased from Rs 8 Lakh last year to Rs 9.54 Lakh this year," he said, attributing the success to the efforts of everyone involved: students, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals. The average monthly stipend for students has also increased to Rs 38,427.
"This comes on the heels of CU's historic debut in the QS World University Rankings-2023, when it placed among the top 800 universities worldwide, 21st among all Indian universities, and third among Private Universities in India.
As if that weren't enough, in the NIRF Rankings 2022, Chandigarh University came in at number 29 among all the public and private universities in the country, making it the youngest university ever to break into the top 30 leagues of Indian Universities, adding yet another glittering gem to its already impressive crown "Sandhu remarked.
Professor Himani Sood, Senior Vice President at Chandigarh University, said, "Two corporations offered students at Chandigarh University annual salaries of Rs 50 Lakhs or more, while two more offered Rs 45 Lakhs or more. Four organizations offered over 40 Lakhs per year, six offered over 35 Lakhs, and nine offered salaries over 30 Lakhs."
She continued, "More than ten companies made a job offer with an annual package of Rs 25 Lakhs and above to Chandigarh University's students, while over twenty-five companies made annual offers of over Rs 20 Lakhs.”
She continued, ”Over thirty companies made offers of Rs 15 Lakhs. Above, over sixty companies made offers of Rs 10 Lakhs and above, and over one hundred companies made offers of Rs 7 Lakhs and above. More than one hundred and twenty companies made offers of Rs 5 Lakhs.
"Chandigarh University graduates have been able to secure paid internships. It is astounding that 16 different organizations have offered our students a monthly stipend of over Rs 50,000, 10 different companies have offered a stipend of over Rs 70,000, and 3 different companies have offered a stipend of Rs 1 Lakh and above," she explained.
According to Professor Sood, most of the 150 organizations that made employment offers to the class of 2023 are well-known Fortune 500 firms. These firms include Microsoft, Google, Amazon, IBM, Arcesium, Adobe, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, Qualcomm, Philips, Goldman Sachs, Toshiba, and more.
Prof. Sood shared that "Chandigarh University set a national record by achieving the highest offers in the country by four top Multinational Companies—DXC Technology, Capgemini, OPTUM (UHG), and Legato."
The university also surpassed all other North Indian institutions regarding the number of placement offers made by Cognizant and Bank of America.
She added that the top semiconductor companies that hired students from Chandigarh University were Intel, Western Digital (SanDisk), Qualcomm, Marvel, and Open Five, and the top FinTech employers were JP Morgan Chase & Co, Goldman Sachs, American Express, Bank of America, Natwest, Standard Chartered, and Fidelity.
"It's an understatement to say that industry titans include Chandigarh University among their favourite collaboration partners. Chandigarh University's students have been in high demand from leading companies year after year because of the exceptional education and practical experience they gain there.
It is no small feat that the University has established more than 30 Industry-sponsored Centers of Excellence and training centres, where students acquire the skills and knowledge required by the industry, and that the University has established ties with prominent national and international industry leaders for joint research and guidance "As Prof. Sood put it.
