As per the Supreme Court’s decision, ICSE, State Board, and CBSE Term 2 Exam 2022 will now be held as per the schedule released by the respective boards. The examination will only commence through offline mode for all registered candidates (unless mentioned otherwise).

After refusing the request for online exam commencement, the Supreme Court further clarified that the court will not interfere with the plea and the matter is now in the hands of individual boards. The exam mode will only be decided by the respected board for their students.

The petition was submitted by the child rights activist Anubha Shrivastava Sahai to request the state boards to either cancel the Board Examination or conduct the same in the online mode. The request was made in view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country.

ICSE, State Board, and CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th Term 1 Exam 2022 cancellation request was also supported by students as there was a lack of physical classes in the 2021-22 season. Students shared their problems with the authorities through social media platforms.

As per students, since classes were held online throughout the academic session, exams for the same should also be held online. In the times of the Covid-19 pandemic, examination boards should take measures to ensure the safety of the students.

While dismissing the plea, Justices AM Khanwilkar stated that the petition will only create "false" hope in students. "These petitions create false hopes, let authorities take a decision. You can challenge that order, '' he said.

"There’s news items everywhere. What kind of petitions are filed & publicity is being given? This has to stop. This has to stop. Don’t come up again or there will be exemplary costs. Let students & authorities do their job. You can’t PIL like this. Whoever has filed we’re saying for that petitioner," he added.

As per the CBSE Term 1 Exam 2022 Schedulethe board has notified all registered students that the exams will be held from April 26, 2022, in various exam centres. While CISCE board will also start the commencement of board examination from March-April 2022.

On the other hand, various state boards including Madhya Pradesh and Bihar have already started their respected Board Examination 2022 for class 10th and 12th students. Maharashtra Board Exams 2022 are also scheduled to start from March 04, 2022.
