New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun the application process for the merit scholarship scheme for single girl-child. 

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship for Class 10, Registration begins at cbse.gov.in

According to a CBSE press release, the CBSE Board is accepting applications for the CBSE merit scholarship programme for single girls who graduated from class 10 in 2022 and are now enrolled in class 11 at any CBSE-affiliated institution.

The reason behind the CBSE merit scheme is to identify the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and provide encouragement to meritorious students.

The Board is also accepting applications for the single girl child scholarship class 10 2021 (Renewal 2022) programme in addition to this (those that were awarded in 2021).

Interested candidates can submit their online applications for the merit scholarship scheme and renewal of the scholarship till November 14, 2022. The School will verify the submitted documents between October 21 and November 21, 2022. 

Only female students who are the sole child of their parents and have earned less than 60% in the first five subjects of class 10 are eligible to apply for this scholarship. In addition, the monthly tuition should not be more than Rs 1500 for class 10 and 10% more for classes 11 and 12.

Candidates should keep in mind that the Board will only accept online applications and that no correction window will be offered for these forms.

According to Sanyam Bhardwaj, the Controller of Examinations, the Board will declare the schedule for the class 10 and class 12 board exams in December. Further, the pre-pandemic syllabus will be used for the board test for students in classes 10 and 12 the following year.

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship for Class 10: How to Apply? 

Step 1: Visit the CBSE website at cbse.nic.in.

Step 2: Search and click on the link reading – ‘Single girl child scholarship X-2022 REG’.

Step 3: On the new page, select the type of application required – fresh or renewal.

Step 4: Then click on the SGC-X fresh application or renewal button and fill in the form.

Step 5:  Upload all the documents and pay the fee and submit the application form. 

Step 6: Take a printout of the CBSE Scholarship Scheme application form for future use.

It should be noted that no hardcopy or offline application will be accepted by the Board.
