December 28, 2020: Kolkata schools affiliated to ICSE (ISC) and CBSE boards have decided to call board examinees after the winter break for project submission. Kolkata schools will conduct physical practical classes followed by project submission for 10th and 12th classes in January.
Since ICSE and CBSE Board Exam 2021 for Class 10 and 12 have been deferred, all educational institutions are at relief to not conduct practical classes immediately. The state government has not yet given the approval to reopen schools but it is expected that at the time of submitting projects, few board examinees will be present.
Students will also be called in small numbers for submitting their project. Following the guidelines and SOPs issued by the government, Kolkata schools will be filing the project submission forms.
Practical classes and project submission is mandatory for 10th and 12th boards examination. In view of this, ISC board will be testing science students for lab work and CBSE will prepare practical exams in science subjects. It is mandatory for all the schools to keep the record of project submission for 10th and 12 boards Examination.
Loreto Schools has even started calling in Class 12 board examinees for the lab work before the commencement of winter break. Students were called in for practical classes and project submission only after the consent of their parents.
With this, other schools are planning to reopen classes on parental consent after the state government gives a nod.

Sujoy Biswas, Chief of Rammohan Mission School said that parents are requesting to reopen the classes for 10th and 12th students for practical classes.
Further, St James School will be starting the classes from January 12, 2021 after discussing with the teachers. The principal has announced that the timetable will be issued for the students to come in strategic manner for submitting their project
On the other hand, the vice principal Indrani Chattopadhyay of DSB Ruby Park, said that they will be conducting interactive lab classes for science students.

For students of class 10, the project submission window will be open from January 6-8 and for 12th class Students, the window will be open on January 20. Heritage school also seems to follow the same for project submission and call students in a phased manner.
