Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has shared a general timeline. However, it has yet not provided any clarity as to when the CBSE board exam 2021 is going to be held for theory and practical papers. As a result, schools are considering conducting 9th and 11th class exams early.

The board has not declared dates for CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th exams due to which the schools are facing an issue to decide for the Class 9 and 11 exams, as they would not want these examinations to clash.

The board has shared a broader timeline that is from May 4-June 10, 2021 for CBSE Class 12 exams. In view of this, most schools are reconsidering their summer vacations. The delay is also making it hard for schools to decide on the 9th and 11th examinations.

The biggest concern for the schools is the lack of guidelines for the examinations, due to the pandemic change in the pattern of exams is expected. Additionally, CBSE has not released any information regarding the same yet.

As per a senior coordinator of CBSE affiliated schools in Delhi, “We have absolutely no idea how the exams have to be conducted. We would need more teachers as more batches would be expected. With no clarity for the boards, the schools might aim for early exams for 9th and 11th class.”

Additionally, the concern for the schools is regarding planning for the academic year 2021-2022. “Schools may need twice as many classrooms and support staff to conduct the CBSE Board Exams in a responsible and safe manner,” says Mrs Rai, Principal, AIS.
