The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not announced the dates for Board Exam 2021 yet. The delay in announcing the CBSE Board Exam dates have raised the hopes of students for the postponement of exams.
As per sources, even the CBSE affiliated schools have not clarity when the board exam 2021 will be conducted. However, many CBSE schools have started conducting their pre-board exams and are expecting that the Class 12 exams will start by March-end.
“The dates have not been announced and while we would very much want to have classroom coaching before the exam begin, there is no point waiting. We have started to call students with parental consent to school for pre-board examination. The idea is more to acclimatize students with the SOPs, and prepare them to appear for the pen and paper test” shared Ms. Neeru of Delhi Public School, Faridabad (name changed).
Despite the permission of schools reopening in Haryana for classes 10 and 12, many schools in Delhi NCR towns of Faridabad and Gurgaon are still closed. Schools in Gurgaon are working on a blended approach, relying more on online classes and examination.
“These are difficult times and we would very much want to conduct exams at school. But safety remains our priority. Pre-boards have begun online as asking students to be at school for longer duration may be a challenge just yet. We are seeing a gradual decline in cases in the city, the management does not want to rush it and would wait till no active cases are reported,” shared Mr. Das, Exam coordinator with a leading school in Gurgaon.
Moreover, the silence from the board on the CBSE Board Exam 2021 dates have caused frustration among students and teachers.
Many teachers have pointed out that a date is essential for planning the routine. “It is often the date sheet that triggers the urgency in students to start revising and preparing for the examinations,” pointed teachers.
