As per the latest notice released by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), classes 10th and 12th students of Main 2020 can attend CBSE Board Exam 2022 (term-2) who could not clear the compartment exam as well.

Following the notice, the board added that with the extension of eligibility criteria, these students can appear as private candidates for the upcoming Class 10th and CBSE Class 12th Term 2 Board Exam 2022. 

Referring to the CBSE Term 2 Board Exam 2022, the official notice reads, “It has been decided that the candidates who appeared in Main 2020 under full subject category and were placed in the compartment and who could not clear their compartment exams in subsequent chances will also be eligible to register and appear as private candidates in compartment exams being conducted along with the term 2 exams 2022 for both Class 10, 12".

The notice further clarifies that the decision to extend the eligibility criteria for students who appeared for compartment exam and could not clear it, has been made by keeping in mind the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.

The decision is taken as a special one-time measure for students of CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 for session 2021-2022 due to the special circumstances, the notice reads. 

Earlier, CBSE had officially announced that students who were placed under the compartment category can appear for CBSE Compartment Exam 2021 (Main) for Class 10 and 12 as private candidates. 

Additionally, those students who were placed under the compartment category in the August and September 2021 exams can also appear for the compartment exam as private students. 

CBSE Compartment Exam 2021 was scheduled to commence along with the CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th Term 2 Board Examination. For more details on the same, students are advised to visit the board's official website at cbse.nic.in. 

As of now, the CBSE is conducting the term 1 examination for class 10th and class 12th. The exam for CBSE Class 10th students will conclude on December 11, 2021, while the class 12th exam will be held till December 22, 2021.
