New Delhi: Common Admission Test (CAT) 2022 has recorded an increase of 11% in overall registrations and an increase of 6% in category candidate registrations for the 2022 session. The number has increased from last year's 2.31 lakh registrations.

As per IIM Bangalore, the conducting authority of CAT 2022, the registrations have been increased with the help of digital campaigns held to create awareness of the opening of CAT 2022 applications and enhancements made to the process related to outreach.

In addition to this, the authority also extended the deadline for CAT 2022 registrations till September 21, 2022 to reach a younger and targeted demographic. Interested candidates were required to submit their applications before the given deadline in order to appear for the exam. 

Referring to the increase in registrations, CAT 2022 Chairperson, Professor Ashis Mishra said, “Student-centric changes will enhance the registration and other processes of CAT, thereby making it possible for the candidates to focus on preparing for the examination itself".

As per the exam schedule released, the CAT 2022 will be held on November 27, 2022, for all registered candidates in over 150 test cities in the country. The result for the same is expected to be announced in the second week of January 2023 for all candidates.

Those who are preparing to appear for the admission test will be able to check and download their CAT 2022 Admit Cards from October 27, 2022 (5 PM) by clicking on the latest link available. The admit card download link will be available on the official website at iimcat.ac.in.

This year, new CAT 2022 exam centers have been set up in the Northeast at Manipur, Tripura, etc, and in various Union Territories such as Lakshadweep, Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Ladakh, and Leh. 

With this, candidates can select any six cities from the available exam center list as per their preferences for the examination. Registered candidates will be able to check their final exam center, exam duration, exam day guidelines and other details on their admit cards.

Chairperson Professor Ashis Mishra said, “The preparations and the conduct of the examination are being done with continued COVID-19 uncertainty. Candidates who have registered for the admission test are advised to check the CAT website regularly for the latest information”.
