New Delhi: CAT 2022 exam is expected to be held in the last week of November for admission to top B-schools including the renowned IIMs. The exact date will be confirmed only after the release of the official notification. 

IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, and IIM Indore alternately host the CAT examination. The registration process for CAT 2022 is likely to open in August. The name of the institution taking the test will be confirmed prior to the release of the official announcement.

After a five-year gap, IIM Ahmedabad conducted the entrance exam last year. Going by past precedent, this year either IIM Bangalore or IIM Lucknow may be selected to host the exam. Previously, the IIM Bangalore in 2016 conducted the exam followed by IIM Lucknow in 2017.

CAT 2022: Exam Pattern

• CAT 2022 will have a total of 66 questions.
• The question pattern of CAT 2022 will be distributed into three sections – Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA). 
• It will be held in a computer-based test mode with both MCQs and non-MCQs. 
• The duration of the exam is 120 minutes. 
• As per the marking scheme, three marks are awarded for every right answer whereas for every wrong attempt there will be a deduction of 1 mark.

Along with IIMs, renowned management institutes such as the Faculty of Management Studies, IITs (Management Courses), SPJIMR, Mumbai, and other top private colleges accept CAT scores.
