New Delhi: IIM Bangalore has released the CAT 2022 Exam date which is going to be conducted on November 27, 2022. Candidates can register for the exam online through the official website iimcat.ac.in from August 3, 2022. 

Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national-level examination held by the IIMs for admission to MBA/PGP programmes. Every year around 2 lakh candidates register for the examination. The examination is held on the last Sunday of November every year. 

According to the CAT syllabus , candidates have to solve 66 questions on Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, in 120 minutes. The official notification for the registration of the CAT 2022 exam will be released on July 31, 2022.

The 20 IIMs that accept CAT Exam 2022 scores for admission to postgraduate management courses are IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Shillong, IIM Raipur, IIM Indore, IIM Nagpur, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Trichy, IIM Visakhapatnam, IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Ranchi, IIM Jammu, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Udaipur, IIM Amritsar, IIM Kashipur and IIM Rohtak.  

CAT 2022 Exam: Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates who have qualified for a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% from a recognised university are eligible to register for the CAT examination. 
• Final year graduation students are also eligible to appear for CAT but the average score for the first two years must be 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ST/PwD candidates)
• Candidates who have qualified in professional courses such as ICAI , ICSI , ICWAI are also eligible to apply for the CAT exam.

Apart from IIMs, IMT, IMI, FMS, SPJIMR, MDI, IITs, GLIM, NITIE, NMIMS, ICFAI, GLIM, TAPMI, Amity University, Xavier University, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, BIMTECH and LIBA among others are the universities that accept CAT score. 

CAT 2022 Exam: How to Apply?

The CAT application/registration will begin on August 3. The form has six sections. Candidates are required to fill in relevant details on all six pages of the form for successful submission. • Personal Details: In this section of the CAT application form, the candidates are required to enter details such as name, date of birth, father’s name, category, gender, nationality, communication address, email ID, mobile phone number, etc.
• Academic Details: In this section, the candidates have to enter class 10 and 12 exam scores, bachelor’s degree details and mark sheet and details of other professional courses (if any)
• Work Experience: If a candidate has relevant work experience, they need to fill in details such as the name of the company, duration, etc., in this section
• Programmes: In this section, the candidates have to select IIM institutes of their choice and the MBA programmes they wish to opt for
• Test City: In this section, test city preference is to be marked. The candidates can select up to six cities in order of preference from one to six
• Payment: To pay the CAT application fee, candidates can use a Credit/Debit Card, Internet Banking or Paytm/PayU mobile wallets.
