CAT 2021 result has been declared today, January 3, 2022 by IIM Ahmedabad. Candidates who took the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021, are advised to keep checking the official website i.e. iimcat.ac.in for updates. 

About 1.92 lakh candidates appeared for CAT 2021 which was conducted on November 28, 2021. The exam was held in three shifts at 438 test centres in 156 cities across India. Usually IIM Ahmedabad takes 30-40 days to declare the results after the exams are held. Therefore, analysing the previous years’ trends, CAT 2021 result has been declared today, January 3, 2022. 

CAT 2021: Result Highlights

  • As per the latest updates, 9 candidates have secured 100 percentile in CAT 2021, who are all are male students.
  • Out of all the 100 percentile scorers, 7 are from engineering while 2 are from non-engineering backgrounds.
  • A total of 19 candidates secured 99.99 percentile.
  • Among all these toppers, there are no female candidates. Only one female student has secured 99.98 percentile.
  • As per CAT 2021 result declared today, 4 of the top scorers are from Maharashtra, 2 from Uttar Pradesh and one each from West Bengal, Haryana and Telangana.

CAT 2021 Result: How to Retrieve the Forgotten Password?

In case any student forgot his or her password, there is no need to panic. Students can recover the password by following these below mentioned steps:

  • Candidates need to visit the official website.
  • They need to click on the “Registered Candidate Login” option.
  • On the displayed “Login” page, candidates need to click on the “forgotten password” option.
  • They need to enter the registered email address, captcha and click on the “password/ get user ID” option.
  • The User ID and Password will be sent to the candidate’s registered email.
  • They can check the CAT Result 2021 by using the received credentials.

  • As the new page appears, enter the asked credentials and click on the submit option.

CAT Result 2021: How is Percentile Score Calculated?

Students need to remember that the CAT Score and CAT Percentile are two different things and equally important. CAT score is the marks received by the candidate while CAT Percentile refers to a relative score calculated against the number of total candidates appearing for the examination. Follow the below mentioned steps to calculate your CAT Percentile Score:

  • Calculate the total number of candidates (N) appearing for the examination, including the morning, afternoon and evening sections
  • Assign a rank (r ) based on the scaled score received in the QA section. In case more than one candidates receive the same score, the same rank are to be allotted to them
  • Follow the formula ????={(????−????) / N} x100 to know the percentile
  • The calculated percentile mark can be round off up to two decimal point
