BS Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology has been ranked in Band-A (rank 6-25) by Atal Rankings of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2020.
Crescent Institute of Science and Technology has been awarded this prestigious rank for its incessant attempt to transform innovative ideas into reality. This year, Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu, Honourable Vice President of India, released the ARIIA Ranking through an E-ceremony held on August 18, 2020, in New Delhi.
From March 2019, the institute initiated their Entrepreneurship & Innovation Wing, Crescent Innovation & Incubation Council (CIIC) for encouraging students, faculties and alumni to convert their ideas/ innovation into start-ups as well as support other innovators also.

ARIIA Ranking 2020: An Overview
Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, systematically rank higher educational institutions and universities of India.
Rankings are awarded considering “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development” as the foremost aspect.
ARIIA ranks Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in categories as:
- Public Funded Institutions
- Institute of National Importance, Central Universities & CFTIs
- State University & Deemed Universities (Government & Government. Aided)
- Government and Government / Aided College/Institutes
- Private or Self-Financed Universities
- Private or Self-Financed College/ Institutes
Crescent made rapid progress within a year and incubated 64 start-ups in the areas of Agri-Tech, Med-Tech, Healthcare, Nano-Tech, Food-Tech, Clean-Tech, IoT, AI, ML, Edu-Tech, AR/VR, Cyber Security & Smart Manufacturing.
They also one of the BIONEST Incubation Centre and received a grant of Rs.1.8 Crores from BIRAC, Department of Biotechnology Govt of India. Based on their efforts, they have been ranked in BAND A (6th-25th) in ARIIA Ranking 2020.

Crescent supported 10 start-ups as a Knowledge Partner for receiving Innovation Voucher Program (IVP). this allowed them to access a grant worth INR 2-5 Lakhs by Entrepreneurship Development & Innovation Institute (EDII), Govt of Tamilnadu.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr.M.Parvez Alam, CEO & Director of Crescent Innovation & Incubation Council (CIIC) asserted, “Crescent is making consistent efforts to create more employability among students and make them as future-ready entrepreneurs”.
As these sincere efforts brought accolades for the institute, Chancellor, Mr BSA Arif Buhary, Pro-Chancellor Mr.Abdul Qadir, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr.A.Peer Mohamed and Registrar Dr.A.Azad appreciated their efforts.
