New Delhi: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is preparing to organize a coding competition "ICPC Algo Queen Girls" Programming Cup 2022 for female school students from class 8th to class 12th. The competition will be held to encourage students in the field of competitive coding.
As per Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham , the coding competition will be held only for girl students who meet the criteria. The online coding event is being sponsored by IBM Quantum to motivate girls in India to take part in various activities and coding competitions.
Interested girl students who are pursuing their education from any recognized exam board can submit their registrations for AVV Coding Competition 2022 on the official website of university at www.amrita.edu/algoqueen. The last date to apply for the competition is October 25, 2022.
Professor Maheshwara Chaitanya, Director said, “We need more girls to be part of the technological revolution, especially in competitive programming and coding. We need to understand which obstacles keep girls away from STEM and how we can encourage them to overcome these”.
"The aim of ICPC Algo Queen Programming Cup is to stream the brightest mathematical minds among girl students into a productive world of algorithms and computer science. The university has been hosting the world’s largest collegiate programming contest for the past 15 years".
Adding to the statement, Dr. William Poucher, Present of ICPC Foundation informed that this initiative will also offer workshops and competitive programming opportunities which help participants rapidly develop coding skills and algorithmic problem-solving ability.
Dr. William Poucher said, “The ICPC Foundation is delighted to announce and endorse the ICPC Algo Queen Girls Programming Cup conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Through the competition, the university will provide the girl with free training in coding/programming”.
