The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said that the SSS has issued the first provisional list of 485 shortlisted candidates in the newly approved schools.

According to the official release, the result of e-counseling has been released on the portal @sainikschool.ncog.gov.in/ecounselling, resulting in the SSS to move one step ahead in the Government’s objective of establishing 100 new Sainik Schools in partnership mode throughout the country.

40% of Seats to be Filled by AISSEE 2022 Qualified Candidates

Candidates should note that candidature will be filled through the automated system for the conduct of e-counseling. The newly-approved Sainik Schools have planned to fill out at least 40 percent of seats for the AISSEE 2022, qualified candidates.

Candidates can visit the portal @sainikschool.ncog.gov.in/ecounselling and check the results and further instructions related to admission.

The Defence Ministry said that the candidates also have the option of selecting up to ten schools for allocation.

The official SSS notification states that the allocation of schools for the students was automated on the basis of the rank and priority of the students for the schools.

The provisionally shortlisted candidates are required to accept the allotment and proceed for the admission formalities or indicate the option to be considered for the second round of counselling or unwillingness for further consideration, the SSS release notified.

The Sainik School Society will inform the dates for physical verification at the respective School level to the candidates who have accepted or locked their choices by the approved new Sainik Schools to the candidates.

The seats which are left vacant after the specified date of completion of round 1 will be filled via the round 2 of counselling for which the dates will be announced in the official portal, it added.

This year, almost 60 percent of students are expected to be admitted from eligible students already studying in the newly approved Sainik schools.

For such students, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct a separate qualifying admission test (New Sainik Schools Entrance Examination - NSSEE-22), which will be on a similar pattern to that of AISSEE.

The authority will soon start the registration process for the admission of such eligible students already studying in these newly approved Sainik Schools and those who are interested in seeking admission in the Sainik school vertical in their concerned school.

The date of admission test (NSSEE-2022) will be shortly announced through the NTA portal.
