ICAR AIEEA UG 2023 discontinued

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency has decided to discontinue the All India Entrance Examination for Admission (ICAR AIEEA 2023 exam) to the bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Allied Science and grant admissions to agricultural universities through CUET 2023.

According to the official notice, the ICAR UG Admission used to be conducted through ICAR AIEEA. However, now the candidates who will be appearing for the exam this year, will get admission through the Common University Entrance Test.

As a result, the Indian Agriculture Research Institute (ICAR) will now offer admission to undergraduate programmes in agriculture and allied subjects in agricultural universities through the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate (CUET) UG 2023 for the academic year 2023-24.

As per the official NTA Notification, the ICAR has recently decided that, starting with the academic year 2023–2024, admission to the specific UG programmes, which was previously conducted by the ICAR–AIEEA, will be done by the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG).

Therefore, there will be no ICAR–AIEEA (UG) for admission to UG courses in Agriculture and Associated Subjects for 20% ICAR All India Quota Seats for the academic year 2023–2024, the notice said.

Earlier, the admission to bachelor's degree programmes in agriculture and allied sciences (other than veterinary sciences) was done through AIEEA for 20% of the agriculture university seats (100% seats at RLBCAU Jhansi, NDRI Karnal, IARI New Delhi, and Dr. RPCAU Pusa, Bihar) till the academic session 2022-23.

However, ICAR-AIEEA (PG) 2023 and ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD)-2023 will continually conducted by NTA separately, as in earlier years. Candidates aspiring for ICAR-AIEEA (PG)-2023 and ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD)-2023 are requested to get in touch with the NTA website @www.nta.ac.in / https://icar.nta.nic.in for further information, NTA added.

Candidates are advised to visit the ICAR's official website regularly for the most recent information on requirements of admission to UG programmes, including age, passing or appearing in qualifying exams, minimum qualifying exam marks, their relaxation, subject combinations necessary to appear in CUET UG reservations, admission requirements, and more.

Meanwhile, the CUET UG Registrations 2023 is underway and the last date to apply is March 12, 2023. This year, the CUET exam is scheduled to be held on May 21, 2023.
